Travel Insights

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, or is it? Visiting your loved ones or heading to a tropical destination makes for a great vacation, but traveling during the holidays can be chaotic and stressful. From inevitable weather delays to shoving heavy winter coats into a packed carry-on bag, holiday travel can certainly dim the holiday cheer.

We’re sharing our top three holiday travel tips and hacks to help you navigate the busiest time of year so the journey is just as good as the destination.

Helpful Travel Tips

  1.  Plan ahead. If you haven’t already made your travel plans for this year, we suggest shifting your plans to 2025 to make it easier on your wallet and mental well-being. If you do have air travel plans secured, double-check that you have your rental car reserved, have a backup plan for delayed or canceled flights, and consider travel insurance to protect your plans in case of sickness, winter storms, and other unforeseen circumstances.
  2. Get to the airport early. C/NCIA offers close convenience to your front door and inexpensive parking at just $6 a day, but the holiday season may present its share of challenges. As people head out for their holiday vacations, our parking lot may begin to fill up, leaving little to no space. In this case, we have an overflow lot for you to park in a short walk from the airport gate. Always arrive 90 minutes early for your flight and watch for overflow parking signs.
  3. Protect your valuables. The hustle and bustle of holiday travel can leave you flustered and vulnerable to theft. When you get to your destination or connecting airport, protect your valuable information and personal items by keeping them in a secure and safe place. Consider investing in an anti-theft purse, Bluetooth trackers, or RFID-blocking sleeves for your credit cards.

Clever Holiday Hacks

  1. Not sure what is allowed through security or what form of I.D. to bring? Get help with live assistance from TSA, text “TRAVEL” to 275-872 and get answers to your travel questions in real-time to quickly and conveniently move through security.
  2. Ship your holiday gifts to your destination to avoid packing extra items, paying overweight luggage fees, or forgetting a gift on your kitchen table. Plus, you might be able to take advantage of seasonal free shipping promotions!
  3. Keep medications, phone chargers, and other essentials in your carry-on bag in case of flight delays or lost luggage. This way, you have peace of mind knowing these items are on your person and not somewhere in the sky.

At C/NCIA, we will do our best to keep your holidays merry and bright by providing the best customer service and affordable, convenient parking so you have less headaches and more cheer.
